Description
Yes, skeletal reconstructions know no phylogenetic bounds (well, except they have to have skeletons...). This is Basilemys, a Late Cretaceous "tortise-like" turtle. It looks to me like he could hold his own as a walking foot stool. Or perhaps you could use him to serve cocktails at parties (albeit slowly).

Nice illustration. We find lots of Late Cretaceous turtle shell, vertebra, long bones out in Northeastern Montana while prospecting for dinosaur fossils.
