Here on DA Guanlong came from behind to barely eek out a victory over Yutyrannus, 35 to 33 (with Protoceratops having a strong showing in third with 29 votes). Over on my website it was a very different story, as Sauroposeidon and Guanlong showed massive surges on the last day, with Sauroposeidon almost tripling its vote total to snatch second place (with 127 total votes) and Guanlong more than quadrupling its vote total to gain a ridiculous 347 votes.
So while it seems like a fan or three of Guanlong may have worked overtime to ensure victory Sunday, it does match with the non-anonymous vote on DA, so I suppose all's well that ends well. So look for that skeletal towards the end of the week, but look for a different skeletal soon, and perhaps some hints at the long-awaited revision of Utahraptor near midweek.

Revised Spinosaurus skeletal
Here it is. I'm sure people will have opinions on it. I'm happy to answer questions, but if you want more detailed information I wrote extensively about my choices and assumptions on my website: https://www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/road-to-spinosaurus-iv-not-your-fathers-jp3-osaurus11282020 https://www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/the-road-to-spinosaurus-iii-of-chimeras-and-leg-proportions11262020 And the article on sail shape I posted in the last journal: https://www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/the-road-to-spinosaurus-ii-known-unknowns11252020
Spinosaurus sail shape
I have finally got back around to working on a new Spinosaurus skeletal from scratch. I'm exploring some of the issues on my website, including a critical look at the new sail shape everyone seems keen on copying. Check it out here: https://www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/the-road-to-spinosaurus-ii-known-unknowns11252020
Introducing Hesperornithoides miessleri
I'm afraid my summer schedule isn't going to give me much time for DA posting, but I did want to take a moment to introduce you to a new small, winged dinosaur from the Jurassic of North America that I and my coauthors named - Hesperornithoides miessleri. If you want more information about it I also wrote up a blog post you can read here: http://www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/hesperornithoides-faq7102019 Cheers!
Most theropods probably had lips
This is just a quick journal entry to let all of you know I'm overhauling of my non-bird theropod skeletals, and a large part of it is to put more obvious (and IMO more accurate) lips on them. I've written up a (lengthy) blog post outlining the evidence that supports theropods lips here: http://www.skeletaldrawing.com/home/the-lip-post1
I will do a second blog post in the next week or so on what correlates I'm using to guide the lip reconstructions. I also wanted to warn people that while I've updated around half of my theropod skeletals it will most likely be a few more weeks before I have those uploaded to DA, so in the meantime you are be

When can you post the Guanlong? I don't mean to be annoying but I'm kind of going to need it soon and you did say it would probably be posted back in May and it's already July.
